After reading other reviews, I question if some of the negative reviews are for the same resort.
This resort is nothing short of perfect.
Takes all kinds...
I know there are a lot of people scared to go to Mexico right now due to violence on the boarder, however that's just it...it's on the boarder...far, far away from Playa del Carmen, Cancun, or Cozumel. Just like any city in the United States...use common sense and you'll be perfectly safe.
The Riviera Maya is statstically safer than many cities within the United States.
The resort itself is situated right on the beach in Playa del Carmen, and just a block away from 5th Avenue. The beach has a very soft, white powdery sand, and crystal clear waters. When the Caribbean is calm, the waters off the beach offer great snorkeling
