how Playa del Carmen is laid-out:
coming into town on the highway from Cancun you first meet Calle 34 Norte. Proceding south brings you to Constiuyentes. Continuing south is Av Juarez. All the hotels MexicoSteve offers is between Constiuyentes and Juarez near 5th Avenue. In the case of Reef Playacar you will enter the Playacar residential area which is south of Ave Juarez and go about 6 blocks to this beach hotel in its' ecological setting.
We recently stayed at the ReefClub Playacar. And without hesitation offer my personal endorsement.
Wether you like to bicycle (as Playacar is the place to bicycle. Or hang out at the pool at the swim-up bar, or eat well, this is your place.
At the Terraza Grill we had tortilla soup, followed by a fillet-minon with pure of camote. Desert was Italian chocolate with vanilla ice-cream.
Sometimes you feel like lounging in the room. Room service is there for you when you desire it.
