How do you select the RIGHT all-inclusive hotel for YOU? Good question. Consider this. Some all-inclusive hotels have just one restaurant serving buffets with the food on plastic plates and plastic knives and forks. On the other hand some like Gran Caribe Real in Cancun offer nine restuarants including gourmet menu restaurants serving on china plates with silver forks and knives (now that's more like it) in addition to poolside snack bars. Some resorts have kids clubs for the little ones. Like Moon Palace Cancun; Gran Porto Real Playa del Carmen; Aquamarina; Copa Cobana Akumal. Can you enter the 3 month old in the kid's club? The answer is NO. Kids clubs begin at any hotel at 4 years of age. Nannies or babysiters are extra costs not included in the all-inclusive package.
Most of the all of the all-inclusive resorts provide shows. Club Solaris in Cabo San Lucas for example is the only all-inclusive in that area with different shows every night. Almost all the all-inclusives have activities from beach volleyball to bingo and other games. OF course a difference is price per person. All-inclusive resorts quote in price per person per night including tax and sometimes tips as well. Yes a resort with nine restaurants and different shows every night will cost MORE than a simple hotel serving hamburgers and fries on a plastic plate. But as we all know, the sweeter you want your coffee the more sugar you have to put in.
Is everything included in an all-inclusive? Another good question. Food and drink yes. But figure the all-inclusive hotel won't help with your daughter's college tuition nor drive the kids to school. Seriously folks remember those free drinks are national drinks. So Coca Cola is fine. As is Mexican tequila or rum. Forget ordering Remy Martin or Dom Perignon 1984 from France for free.
