And you'll love discovering antique art from the past as you walk in the halls; climb the stairs; explore your room.

And we both love staying in Hotel Virrey de Mendoza in Morelia.

The restaurant is ready to serve you non-stop from 7:30AM to 11:00PM offering great views of the Cathedral of Morelia and fine fare for breakfast, lunch or dinner.

Fine oils adorn the stone walls and the wife can check her eyeliner in one of the antique gilded mirrors which line the halls as seen on the first floor of the photo to the right.

The Hotel is a great starting point to travel on to see the monarch butterflies.

The miracle of the monarch butterflies is an excellent trip to consider as these fragile creatures fly thousands of miles from Canada to Michoacan each year.

As these fragile creatures have a lifespan of only a few months the monarchs who came to Mexico from Canada are not the ones who return, but their offspring. So the monarch migrating to Canada in the spring never went there before. And likewise the monarch leaving Canada and the northern US to migrate to Mexico never went there before. Each trip is a new generation, but yet each new generation knows to return to this same mountain. So if they can find it, so can you.
