I had the privlege
of staying at Avalon Reef Club this past weekend and would like to offer my
personal testimonial. Your room has all those extra personal touches you expect
in a fine resort. Hair dryer; iron; ironing board; room safe for your valuables;
large cable TV screen with over 20 channels in English and Spanish, remote
control of course as is the air conditioner; nice size terrace overlooking the
ocean.
I did the buffet for both breakfast and lunch and ordered from the menu for supper. The variety of fresh food made me feel this was the best food of any of the all-inclusives in this country. From the menu do try the fried calamar (to die for; light; heavenly) and the meat (Arachera platter) is like butter. The service attentive always.
The beach lounge chairs are of elegant wood with comfortable stylish mattresses. And sometimes a reggae band plays live music right on Avalon's beach right outside Kelly's bar. They did No Woman No Lie and other Bob Marley greats.
| I asked for a 7AM wake up call which was right on-time keeping in tune with first class service and dependability. MexicoSteve gives his full endorsement for this hotel. Take advantage of our low rates giving you great vacation value for your money. |

In the above photo as I didn't have any reggae music to add I threw in some Pink Floyd. As seen here the band has behind it the Reef Club dock and the private Reef Club boat. Put your mouse over the button and listen to the music. Click to see the band from the back and the view from Kelly's bar towards North Beach. Now imagine you're on vacation sipping a planter's punch digging music at Kelly's bar right on the ocean. Don't dream it. Be it. | This lovely cashier in Kelly's bar expected to hear reggae. Click on the button to see her reaction to this band doing Pink Floyd. |

If you can get into an uncomfortable 40 minute boat ride in a small motor boat consider a side-trip to Isla Contoy the bird sanctuary. This secluded island north of Isla Mujeres is home to hundreds of varieties of exotic tropical birds. So be happy there are no car ferries going here as you'd need 17 gallons of windshield washer fluid. For those looking for a few peaceful hours on a real deserted tropical island this is for you. IF lobster salad and fine wine are more your thing see you in the restaurant at Avalon Reef. | ![]() |
